The 3.5v Xenon illumination is powered by a long-lasting lithium batteries. The otoscope and ophthalmoscope heads share a common handle, and lighting is controlled by an electronic rheotronic switch. Battery life is conserved by an automatic power-off function.

The optics are designed to deliver high performance with minimal reflection using optical quality glass and aspherical lenses.
